What is a droneport?

A droneport is a specially designed infrastructure that enables the takeoff, landing, operation, and maintenance of drones — both for testing purposes and commercial use. Droneports serve as logistics and technology hubs where stakeholders in drone development can conduct testing, training, research, and innovation in a safe and controlled environment.

Droneports enable integration into real-world use cases, such as:

  • Transport of medical shipments

  • Monitoring and inspection of infrastructure

  • Agricultural and forestry applications

  • Mapping and environmental analysis

In addition to the physical infrastructure, a droneport can function as a platform for collaboration between businesses, academia, authorities, and innovators. It can also help accelerate the development of autonomous systems, electrified aviation, and sustainable logistics solutions.

As drone technology continues to evolve, droneports are becoming a central part of the mobility and transportation systems of the future.
