Arctic Game Global Game Jam 2026

Arctic Game

30 Jan 2026 - 01 Feb 2026

Hey game developers, creators, designers, artists, storytellers, and curious minds! Join us for an inspiring weekend at the Arctic Game Global Game Jam 2026, hosted this year in Skellefteå at the beautiful Pansalen, The Great Northern.

From Friday afternoon, 30 January, through Saturday, 31 January, and wrapping up on Sunday afternoon, 1 February, we invite you to take part in one of the world’s largest game creation events — with a distinctly northern flavor.

What is the Arctic Game Global Game Jam?

The Global Game Jam is all about creativity, collaboration, and experimentation. A global theme will be announced shortly before the jam (during the week of 30 January), and from that moment on, it’s up to you and your team to create a playable prototype in just one weekend.

Whether you work:

  • conceptually,
  • hands-on with code,
  • through game design and mechanics,
  • or by building paper prototypes,

everyone is welcome — from aspiring developers and students to seasoned professionals. The goal is simple: find the fun and bring an idea to life.

A perfect testbed for future games

With the Arctic Game Incubator present locally, the jam also offers a unique opportunity to test ideas that could evolve beyond the weekend. For some teams, this may be the very first step toward a future application, startup, or commercial project.
