AI in the Innovation Process
The project addresses the challenge that innovation processes are time- and resource-intensive, which makes them difficult to access and weakens the region’s capacity in the green and digital transition. Through the project, the target group will gain greater capacity to use AI, free up time spent on administration and develop new ways of working where people and AI complement each other, strengthening the region’s competitiveness and societal resilience.

Background
The project addresses the challenge highlighted in the call regarding the need for stronger digitalisation capacity and support structures for sustainable regional development in Upper Norrland. Today, innovation processes are often out of reach for smaller organisations and rural municipalities due to a lack of expertise, high costs and time-consuming methods. This risks weakening both competitiveness and societal resilience at a time of climate targets, digitalisation and growing demands for crisis preparedness. By exploring and testing how artificial intelligence can be integrated into innovation processes, the project creates new, more accessible and efficient ways of working that free up time for value-creating activities. The project thereby enables more organisations to take part in the green and digital transition, while strengthening the region’s overall capacity for innovation.
Goals
The goal is to develop and test AI-supported methods that make innovation work more accessible, time-efficient and scalable, and to increase understanding of the strategic value of AI. The target group consists of innovation leaders, change leaders and decision-makers in the public sector, small and medium-sized enterprises, business support organisations and non-profit organisations. The project takes a needs-driven approach, using interviews, workshops, research, testing of AI tools and dissemination activities.
