CreativeTech North
The project is a three-year initiative to take the next step in developing the games and creative tech industries in northern Sweden. By supporting companies all the way from early validation to investment readiness, and by connecting support structures with the funding ecosystem, the project aims to make the industry a more sustainable part of the regional economy.

Purpose
Despite strong growth in the global games industry, the games sector in Norrbotten and Västerbotten has struggled to establish itself as a sustainable part of the regional economy. Most companies are small, competition is fierce, and there is a lack of early-stage funding in the region, as well as limited understanding among investors of how the industry’s business models work. There is also too little connection between education, company development and capital.
The project will strengthen companies throughout the entire journey, from validation to investment readiness, and build support structures and a funding ecosystem that work together. The goal is to make games and creative technologies a more stable part of the region’s economy.
Project partners
The project is led by Luleå University of Technology, with Skellefteå Science City, Boden Business Park and the Municipality of Umeå as partners.
