About Us<\/h3>\n

Skellefte\u00e5 Science City is a municipally owned company working to strengthen innovation and business development in Skellefte\u00e5. The organization was founded as part of Skellefte\u00e5 Municipality\u2019s strategy to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in technology and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Funding
\n<\/strong>Funding comes partly from Skellefte\u00e5 Science City\u2019s owner, Skellefte\u00e5 Municipality, and primarily from project funds that enable various programs and initiatives to support companies, entrepreneurs, sectors, and industries in the region. Initiatives include, for example, the Arctic Game ecosystem and the Arctic Aviation Hub program, as well as other flagship projects focused on sustainability and technological development.<\/p>\n

Headquarters
\n<\/strong>Skellefte\u00e5 Science City\u2019s headquarters are located in central Skellefte\u00e5, in newly renovated spaces at Skellefte\u00e5 Innovation Park. The innovation environment at Skellefte\u00e5 Innovation Park is managed by Skellefte\u00e5 Science City and serves as an important meeting place for companies, startups, and investors who want to contribute to the city\u2019s dynamic business community.<\/p>\n

Driving the Green Transition<\/h3>\n

As the innovation engine of northern Sweden, we ensure that Skellefte\u00e5 remains at the forefront of the green transition. System Demonstrator<\/h3>\n

System demonstrators are a type of advanced testing and innovation platform. They provide opportunities to test and validate new solutions in real, yet controlled, environments before they reach the market. They can be either a physical place or a process and include everything from technology and business models to policy barriers and user behavior, all viewed from a system perspective.<\/p>\n

The advantage of system demonstrators is that they accelerate the pace of innovation and improve the chances of successful commercialization. In Skellefte\u00e5, we aim to use the entire city as a system demonstrator for sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n
