Lotta was one of just over 30 participants from across the country who attended the Motion Capture workshop organized earlier this year by the Intersective Game project. Among the participants were performing artists, dancers, actors, and producers, all eager to learn more about mocap. Experts in the field shared knowledge and inspiration, and for some, the workshop became the starting point for new creative ideas.<\/p>\n

\u2013 This was exactly what we hoped for when we arranged the workshop: that more people would discover the possibilities of motion capture and become curious to test its limits, says Pernilla Lindmark, project lead for Intersective Game.<\/p>\n

Lotta\u2019s idea is about creating new kinds of cultural experiences using motion capture. Through the Intersective Game project, she has received support to carry out the first pilot. Together with freelance dancer and choreographer Jenny Schinkler, and Skellefte\u00e5 mocap technician Erik Okfors from Creative Crowd, they were able to explore the concept and test selected parts in order to confirm the technical possibilities.<\/p>\n

\u2013 I was hopeful. Still, I was blown away by a wow experience already in our early, tentative tests, says Lotta Karlsson at Kind Exploring. We quickly realized that this could become even more amazing than we had first imagined!<\/p>\n

Preparations are now underway to take the pilot into phase two and to test it with an audience for the first time.<\/p>\n
