Skellefte\u00e5 welcomed attendees with classic April weather as several of them arrived at Skellefte\u00e5 Airport. There, guests gained insight into how Skellefte\u00e5 Airport, Arctic Aviation Hub, and Green Flight Academy are advancing the industry toward sustainable solutions, next-generation education, and unique testing environments.<\/p>\n

On the way to Skellefte\u00e5 Campus, the group made a quick stop at Skellefte\u00e5 Droneport\u2014Sweden\u2019s first urban drone airport, set to officially open on June 10. Participants got a preview of how this new infrastructure will support testing, development, and new approaches to working with unmanned aerial vehicles.<\/p>\n

Concentrated Expertise and Optimism for the Future<\/h3>\n

Once on campus, a full program of lectures kicked off. Presentations offered insights into sustainable aviation, cutting-edge technology, testing activities, education, and innovation in both civil and military aerospace fields.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s truly incredible how much expertise and optimism exists within Sweden\u2019s aerospace and aviation industries. We\u2019re proud to showcase what\u2019s happening here in the north, while also contributing to a national dialogue about how we can collectively build a more sustainable and competitive aviation sector \u2014both in Sweden and globally,\u201d said Henrik Littorin from Arctic Aviation Hub.<\/p>\n

For Arctic Aviation Hub, a relatively new member of Aerospace Cluster Sweden, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to highlight the region\u2019s role and development within the northern Swedish aviation sector.<\/p>\n

To wrap up the first day, attendees visited the Motion Capture studio at Campus Skellefte\u00e5. There, they got a visual demonstration of how this technology is used in education, film, game development, and visualization\u2014including applications for the aviation sector.<\/p>\n

A Second Day of Insights and Impressions<\/h3>\n

Day two continued in the same spirit, with insightful lectures at Sara Kulturhus. The conference concluded with a guided tour where participants saw how the building integrates sustainable materials and energy-efficient solutions.<\/p>\n

The event proved to be an important meeting ground for knowledge exchange, networking, and inspiration, bringing together representatives from the entire Swedish aerospace ecosystem\u2014from research and academia to industry, public institutions, and the testbeds of the future.<\/p>\n

The atmosphere throughout the conference was marked by engagement, curiosity, and a strong desire to collaborate. Discussions ranged from broad system perspectives to the role of cutting-edge research in advancing Swedish defense capabilities and innovation.<\/p>\n

The conference was co-organized by Aerospace Cluster Sweden and Arctic Aviation Hub.<\/p>\n
