Skellefteå Science City operates several strategic testbeds that promote development within future technology fields. Some examples include:

• The Motion Capture Testbed – an advanced infrastructure for motion analysis, particularly relevant for industries such as game development, film, medicine, and sports. Here, companies and creators can experiment with technologies for capturing, analyzing, and applying human movements in real time.

• Skellefteå Droneport – a testbed within the Arctic Aviation Hub that focuses on enabling the development and testing of aviation technology in an Arctic climate. It offers unique conditions for testing electric aviation, drones, autonomous systems, and other future-oriented solutions within the aviation sector. The area is especially suitable for winter testing and innovation projects related to sustainable and unmanned aviation.
