There is no reason to worry if you see several drones in the airspace between Skellefteå and Norsjö during the period 1–4 December 2025. It is a project that conducts test flights to investigate the possibility of transporting goods with drones over longer distances. The aim is to test the logistics chain and increase knowledge about the possibilities and challenges of the technology.

A new research project will demonstrate how airports can become energy hubs for the electric aviation of the future. Through practical testing in Skellefteå, the project will develop solutions for battery-based energy storage and high-power charging of electric aircraft.

Drone Deliveries between Skellefteå and Norsjö

During the first week of December, packages will be flown between Skellefteå Droneport and Norsjö Bus Station. The flights are part of a Vinnova-funded project involving Skellefteå Airport, Katla Aero, VTI, and Skanska. The drone will be loaded with parcels from Bussgods destined for Norsjö.
