QVARKEN GAME LAB

Qvarken Game Lab continues to work on developing the gaming industry in rural Finland and Sweden. The project, which is led by Novia University of Applied Sciences, has received funding from Botnia Atlantica. Partners in the project are Centria Polytechnic, Åbo Akademi University, Skellefteå Science City and Kramfors Municipality.

The gaming industry is a growing market and the industry has great growth potential in rural areas. Qvarken Game Lab supports the gaming industry in Österbotten, Västerbotten and Norrbotten. The project connects networks, creates meeting places for creative workshops, works with innovation with a focus on concrete results and works strategically with gender equality issues in the gaming industry.

Innovation and competitiveness in the industry are strengthened by bringing in mentors and expert expertise, arranging creative events such as gamejams and hackatons, and working with venture capital to facilitate possible investments. The project focuses on collecting, refining and further developing knowledge about the gaming industry to strengthen the gaming industry both cross-border and locally.

Qvarken Game Lab is a collaboration between Novia University of Applied Sciences, Åbo Akademi / Experience Lab, Centria University of Applied Sciences, Skellefteå Science City and Kramfors Municipality. The project is funded by Interreg Botnia Atlantica.
